Littler made that competitive thanks to completely changing his throw, but his second throw is not enough to beat an in form Humphries in a final. I bet Littler is back to his old throw next time around.

I hope he doesn't become the next snakebite and keep tinkering with his throw and darts.

That way lies madness.

Nah, I don't think he will. I think he just reverts to it when his usual throw is going badly. In hindsight, you have to say it worked out for him when you look at his stats and massive checkouts after 6 legs, trouble is he was 5-1 down at that point and it was too late.

If you've got nothing better to do... Watch the PDC WORLD DARTS CHAMPIONSHIP DRAW LIVE!
Disclaimer: It starts in four hours. :p

After last nights final, I came to the idea that Luke vs Luke is very much like the darts equivalent of Steve Davis vs Jimmy White (Alex Higgins). Steady Humphries and Littler the entertainer. Luke "interesting" Humphries.

I think Humphries can be entertaining, but yeah Littler with his double bull checkouts is more exciting. Humphries is like a Mark Selby, he plays by the numbers, usually very consistently and grinds people down. He's also seems like a thoroughly nice bloke.

Just caught up, Littler was probably better throughout the tournament Humphries was having abit of a stinker up until the final.

The nuke didnt have the best of semi and the final he started way to slow scoring low im sure he will be back.

Fair play to Humphries though definitely raised his game when required in the final.

So whens the next tournament?

Good summary, figured you were catching up with the liking of older posts. Littler was superb tbh, only on the finals day did he drop his level a bit, and even then it was only really in the first 6 legs of the final he was 'well off it'.

I can't wait for the worlds now, we';ve got a really long wait though. December 15th it starts, and unless I'm mistaken, there is no darts before then. Gonna be gagging for some oche action come the 15th.

That said, I feel like at least a week or two break is good for the old ticker, some of these close games have aged me 10 years. :p

Was not a fan back then tbf, last proplerly watched darts (before Littler hit the scene) back in the early days of the Premier League when Barney, Taylor Anderson and Wade were the top dogs, probably around 2007-08 era. Outside of the Premier League though, didn';t watch it much. All changed now, watch almost all the big events. Love the Premier League, Majors and Euro Tours specifically. Proper hooked on darts for the past year or so. :)

Can't wait to see Denis Ovens, Alex Roy and Bob Anderson duking it out.

Pre Barney PDC was basically a Phil Taylor pension fund. Part could challenge him on his best form but other than that it was guys throwing 85 averages against Phil’s 95-105.

Probably could say pre Barney the BDO was the stronger organisation.

Just checked who from the last pre Barney PDC world champs in 2006 is still dining at the darting top table in 2024, there is just 1 man…….forum favourite James Wade! Lost 1st round in 2006.
