On my motherboard I have a system fan port, this is a three pin connector. I assume two of these pins are +ve and -ve, and the other is the speed control for the fan??

I am wondering if i can connect a multiple connector to this to split so the motherboard can connect to 3 fans and also control the speed of these fans through the computer, rather than having a single controllable system fan on my computer.

Thanks

The three pins are +ve, -ve and RPM sensor.

If the motherboard has speed control for the fans this is done by varying the voltage.

If you're going to connect 3 fans to 1 header you need to try and find out the maximum amperage of the fan header and then total up the amperage of the fans.

You don't want to burn out the fan header.
