Hi ;)

Every week on our football coach we run quizzes to raise a little extra cash towards the cost and to pass a bit of time and this week I've been tasked with getting together fifty questions.

So.......

What better way to make them up than asking loads of people if they know a decent question :D

I'd love it if you people could help out and provide questions like this...

Q. What is the only placename in Britain to use an exclamation mark?

Thanks

If an RAF officer had the rank of Squadron Leader, what would his Army equivalent be ? Major.

The US States one is excellent because people (well, I) wouldn't immediately think beyond the mainland. Nice one, I shall use that :)

I'm not too keen on date questions really, but could alter them to "Which famous prison closed in 1963?

Thanks

How many different "endings" of football teams are there in the Premiership (or include the other leagues to make it even harder!)?

Why until the early 1970s did Arsenal always wore their away strip in games against Nottingham Forest, whether playing at home or away?

How many football clubs have the letter x in their name?

Which is the only member of the Royal family to play in an FA Cup final?

Which team reached the FA Cup Final at Wembley even though they lost a game (that was not abandoned or replayed) in an earlier round in the same season?

Who has scored for Newcastle United at Wembley under the managership of Kevin Keegan and then later in their career came on as substitute goalkeeper for an injured Peter Schmeichel for Manchester United in a European match?

Ican't answer any of those excpet maybe the Arsenal one, cos they had the same kit?

But at home too? I'd imagine there's something else to it.

What is the capital of Australia? (People usually get this wrong I find..) Canberra
Barack Obama was senator / governer in which US state before he was elected to the White House?

Bah call yourself a footballer!

Answers as follows for those who don't know (in order)

Currently 7 in the premiership (Villa,City,Rovers,Wanderers,United,Hotspur,Athletic)

Including Championship adds 8 more (Albion,North End,Forest,Palace,Rangers,Wednesday,County,Argyle)

L1 and L2 adds only 5 more (Dons,Town,Orient,Stanley,Alexandra)

This was as a mark of respect for the fact that it was Forest who donated Royal Arsenal a set of red shirts in 1887 when the London club was formed.

Crewe Alexandra, Exeter City, Halifax Town, Oxford United, Wrexham

Joe Royle played in the 1968 FA Cup Final for Everton, who lost 1-0 to West Bromwich Albion (a cheat I know and the question only works if read out ;)

Charlton Athletic in 1945/46. They lost 2-1 to Fulham in the third round, but for that season only each round up to and including the quarter-finals was played over two legs. Charlton won the first leg of that third round tie 3-1, so went through on aggregate.

Honey Monster (in Sugar Puffs adverts) :D

Here's one I always add, and there's always a few teams that are kicking themselves. Just remember though, the internet isn't available during pub quizzes.

Q. Name the actors, Christian and Surname, who played the 'Magnificent Seven'.

However, if it's nearing the end and it's obvious that people have quaffed a few pints then this one can catch the unsuspecting out if they don't listen.

Q. In Genesis, the first book of the Bible, it is widely regarded that Moses took how many of each animal aboard his Ark?

Crewe Alexandra, Exeter City, Halifax Town, Oxford United, Wrexham
That doesn't work. If it's league sides you're after then the answer is only 2. Halifax Town no longer exist, and both Wrexham and Oxford are in the Conference.

If it's all clubs then, well, you could go on forever.
