I've got :
an OS
a case
a GPU
a PSU
a monitor
a keybord and various mice
What I'm looking at is to upgrade a few bits and get an idea of money involved.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
I need a SSD 128gig drive for OS, a MOBO, an Ivybridge/sandy chip (ivy better imo), a good cooler and 8 gig RAM.
Case upgrades - I have a Corsair 600t and I want to try to increase the flow at the front of the case from the stock fan to a decent one. Anyone able to recommend me a new intake fan for the front? I think it's 200mm...can someone confirm as I'm in work and can't check?
I will be looking to add a sata DVD burner at some point, I currently have an IDE one which is an airflow blocker if ever I saw one with that ribbon.
I'm also going to get, later on in the year, 2 x 1TB HD's to run in RAID so I need something now that means I don't have to upgrade mobo or something later on.
Might throw in another 570 card too, so SLI options on the MOBO would be good too. If not I'll get one 7950 card and OC it. RED AND GREEN COMPATIBLE MOBO NEEDED
I want to overclock the cpu to about 4.4-ish not fussed on e-peen swinging so 4.4 will do me. I need a decent cooler to assist on that front though.
I'm recouping some of the money from selling my current tech in sig so I'll recoup a bit from that. Ideally looking to spend no more than £500 on my upgrades with a budget of £600 and recoup money from the selling of stuff I have in my rig now to have overall spend of £500.
The two HD's are not needed just now but option for them later on.
I need
CPU - ivy or sandy
MOBO - compatible with cpu and future proof for dropping another cpu in a later generation
RAM - 8 gig
COOLER - big air or h100 or the like
FANS - Corsair intake fan replacement for 600t
SSD - 128 gig for OS and games
OPTICAL DRIVES - SATA lightscribe dvd burner
I'm a gamer and burn the odd DVD for my daughter but that's it in a nutshell. Can it be done for 600ish?
