generals.exe has stopped working.

After installing C&C The First Decade, twice, Generals/ZH doesn't seem to want to start, it just hangs at the spash screen then says generals.exe has stopped working.

I've tried running generals.exe as as Administrator, and with XP compatibility mode, but neither worked. I've also disabled all programs and none essential services via msconfig and tried that, but that doesn't work either.

Any solutions?

Sounds stupid but have you patched up the game?

I believe there is a fix for that, you have to manually create the options.ini file in %appdata% somewhere. Google around as it's a known problem - sorry for not remembering the details

esK` - Yup, patched.

Locke - Winrar is you!

Had to create an "Options.ini" file in the data folder, and copy and paste the basic info into it.

Fixed!
