I am looking to buy a generator to power my 35w amp in a field (don't ask why hehe). I have found one for 70 odd pounds which seems very reasonable, and it is rated at a max of 950watts. I have read somewhere else that the reality is similar to a constant 3A supply.. which leads me to believe the maximum continuous wattage would be ~720watts? I have no idea if my sums are right, but I am presuming that this genny is more than capable of running my little hifi amp...?

Any opinions?

How long do you have to run the amp for?

Would you be close to a car or able to get a car close to you?

If so, why not run the amp off of an inverter? Make sure it's a good one that produces a pure sine wave, not a modified one. Some amps don't like mod sine wave.....
