Generic Spec me thread

Hey all,

My friend has asked me to build him a PC but i'm a bit out of the loop with the latest hardware.

His budget is £400 - 500 and wants it to play most modern games on reasonable settings.

If possible 2 setups at either end of the budget would be great

Unless any SATA drives can be re-used it may be a push.

Hard drives are 'Damn' pricey at the moment.

And not really, the hard drive he has now is pretty ancient!

I think Stulids second spec is great. If you want a mid ground (£470 ballpark).

Take the second spec and swap the GTX 560ti for This GTX 460

What I will say is that the PSU in the first spec, the 6850 is the maximum card I would put on it, so if you are thinking of putting something better in for just £10 more, then the PSU needs pumping up also.

Yeah I spotted that, Although i'm running a 6870 on a 400w atm
