Have you ever flown an rc plane or heli? If not then expect to crash very fast. ;)

No I haven't, but I don't intend to take it straight up in the air, patience and practise.

They used to cost about 250$ but I snagged one for 57 quid plus shipping from manchester :D

Thats awesome :D I'd be afraid of flying it though, imagine crashing into the floor or submerging it in a pond

First of all master which direction is which on the tx when it is coming towards you, im not sure how old you are so that can greatly affect how quickly you will learn.

The thing you will find weird is the fast it will not make any lift of its own so all lift has to be generated from the prop. Goto a very very large area at first without people round, exactly unlike the 2nd youtube video in your post. Just try flying oval circuits first of all, trying to keep the think as level as possible. It will be a while til you can do any 3D.

You have no chance of being able to fly that competently before you trash it from learning... :p

Indeed, I like a challenge.

I live two minutes from a sports field and quarry, got plenty of space to practice :D

Space doesn't matter, it's the ground you're going to crash into! :p

Well I'll keep it on the ground for a while, i have no intention of being cocky and shafting it straight away :p although I'm not certain my intentions will make a difference.

Damn thats cool.
I know it would last about 2 minutes before I annihilate it by going vertically down into the floor though!

They most probably won't. You will move the sticks too much, over react and ultimately crash when a little gust of wind just alters its course a little. It is the whole reason why you can buy trainer planes to learn how to fly with.

PinkFloyd, 2 mins? You're optimistic. ;)

I am confident that I'm not a total and utter smacktard though, and have a decent idea of what to expect :p but accidents will happen!

So nobody else has one then?
