absolutely terrible scenes in Genoa. A motorway bridge has collapsed causing some vehicles to fall over 300 feet. Literally like something out of a disaster movie. Multiple fatalities, possibly dozens.

Death toll up to at least 22. Lots of rubble though, so chances are there are a few more unfortunate souls trapped underneath.

How much of Italy's construction industry is run by Mob affiliated unions? Mind you this is pretty far north of the major Mob areas, so maybe not.

The likes of the Camorra and Ndrangheta operate quite far north at times.
