German Grand Prix 2011, Nürburgring Circuit - Race 10/19

What motivates these slower drivers like barichello, lotus drivers, etc? It's so obvious that none of them will ever wn a grand prix let alone the championship, so with all the time and money these slower teams spend, what are they really gaining in terms of race accolades? Or just thinking about barichello, does he really go out there thinking he can win a grand prix?

Lotus have progressed from last year, Virgin\HRT not so much.

As for RB\Williams, well they're stuffed without him, he's scored their only points.

Edit: Well Chandhok's just binned his race, too far back to pass anyone now.

Higher up in the constructors, the more money you get for next year. At least that's what I think.

sponsors? development? F1 goes a lot further than just racing a car about.
