I thought that was just the inner belt not the compound?

If anyone honestly thinks a team would sabotage their own driver and put him in any danger they need their heads examined.
Saying Vettel gets all the luck (excluding last weekend) doesn't take into account his KERS issue today. Ok, he held on despite the problem but if he hadn't had the issue he may have cruised home like he did in Canada.
So finger boy wins again? Is it worth watching the highlights?
I'm seeing a lot of these "I don't think I'll bother to watch it any more" posts.
I'd like to see less people involved too. There seems to be anything up to 20 people around the cars at the minute. 3 per wheel, front and rear jack men plus backups, a guy either side steadying the car, guys cleaning / adjusting the front wings. Very crowded.
Yes it makes for very speedy stops but surely less people involved = less chance of human error, and maybe the teams would think about strategy differently if they were going to lose significant time in the pit lane. Like in the old days...
In the interest of producing 'the show' of Formula 1, I would argue they do.
None of the media, TV cameras, commentary, or even fans at the track need to be there for the race to happen, but it would be a pretty boring event from an entertainment prospect.
If Media are confined to the pit wall then I assume this means no interviews with the teams? No ability to go into garages and find out why people retired? No views of pit stops as they happen? Basically Ted and Gary Anderson will be limited to interviewing people on the pit wall and thats about it.
Yep - https://twitter.com/tedkravitz/status/354899158278209536Can Ted, Gary and co not just go in all the garages through the back door from the paddock side rather than the pit side? Suppose it depends on how they define the boundaries of the pitlane really
Following a detailed investigation into the incident, which has been shared with the FIA and other teams, Red Bull discovered that the problem arose when the right rear wheel gun man's thumb accidentally triggered a 'go' signal - which meant the car was released early.
