Hi guys, I think I will be choosing this rig, I am looking at ryzen as well, but I think this rig will keep up with graphics cards in 5 years. Anyone knows until when is the sale going?? I wanted the asus 1070ti strix but its is currently out of stock and OC will only get them on the 26th. Will it be too late by then?

If you were self building, id put you off the 400C as its a pain in the butt! and AIO/ram height clash if mounting at the top- but if its prebuilt - its a nice case to look at haha
I used to self build, but due to the nature of my work, I am buying a pre-built one, when I get home I currently have no patience to do it:D. But thanks for that amazing tip as I intend to keep the case for a future computer:)! Corsair out of question then! Do OC install an OS if you remove it from the build?? I have my own Win10 so I do not mind installing it myself. Just need to find out if it's ok to had some stuff I have here without losing warranty! I have the SSHD and ssd from this machine working fine so it's less things to add!

Case is an individual choice and many options.

Yes the mobo is the Strix F Gaming as default but can change it if you wish to the E (if you need wifi, BT or prefer the lighter colour scheme), Maximus X Hero, Gigabyte Aorus 7 etc. The PSU is the Super Flower Leadex II 850W and I am pretty sure the cooler is the 240+ version which is the Asetek 570LX with the thicker 38mm rad compared to the 30mm that comes with the regular 240.

There is a good review here:

The F version of the strix was the one I was interested so that was perfect. Thanks for that link!!!!! Really cleared my mind of any doubts, as I was still thinking about ryzen. It's for 1440p gaming and I really think that this MOBO and CPU will last me at least 5 years, by the time I will require and update I will just get a bundle!

I just tried to order but I have to speak with my bank. I gives me a "do not honor" error that I've never seen before! I think that my card has some kind of cap when paying like this...:(

I had the same. I think computers and parts are the sort of thing that set of fraud checks on credit cards. I’m with Natwest and the txt me to check if its a legit payment but I had already called them up and got it approved. Kinda annoying but good they check these things.
Did you have to make the order again??

No. I contacted them via web note asking for a quote. They put me in contact with a chap called Damien White who does the custom orders. He generated a pdf and sent it to me. I then adjusted it and sent it back. 2nd version was fine so called up with order number to pay. I did not change that much - no HDD, different case that was not on options list (phanteks pro m glass) added some fan halos and RGB strips, oh and changed win 10 dvd to usb pen version. And free delivery :)
Nice!!! I think I might do exactly the same thing, but in a way that pricing is as pre-built because due to this crypto-mining craze it's the way to save money. I guess they then send you a pdf invoice with a code to make the payment am I right?

The price doesn’t go up if you adjust the spec. They just reprice according to what you add or remove. If it had of changed I would have just ordered default spec online to kerp the same price. Cant say how long it will stay that way with GPUs giing crazy. 1080ti selling for $2000 in the US now and the Strix is already up to £929 component price here when it was previously £749. That and the asus cashback was enough reason for me to get my order in quick.

Pdf quote comes with an order number. You then just call up and say you want to pay for it.
Let's see how it goes this week!! Let me know how long it took for yours to arrive! I recon it's not as busy now, so you might get it in less than 7 days!

Haha thats freaky. I only just realised I need a DisplayPort cable to run 1440p.

Got a message that my PC shipped yesterday and arrives on Monday. Did you sort your order out?
I am waiting for a quote, I changed the cpu cooler for the Kraken X62, and might hold on to my GTX970 until the pornographic prices go back to normal! It all depends on the quote, It's my second quote, I had to change the first one when I discovered the strix Z370-H does not have asus support anymore . I am going to keep the F, but really wanted the extra usb ports...

I looked at the Kraken as a friend has it and the infinity mirror thing looks cool. But it’s not Asus Aura synch compatible, you have to use the NZXT CAM software which doesn’t get very good reviews. Also in AIO tests I saw it came near the bottom. The thicker 38mm rad on the Asetek 570LX (that they use in the default ocuk techlabs 240+) seemed to do well.

I started looking at the Gallium but saw plenty of vids that said the 8700k was much better for BF1 and PUBG which is what I plan to play mostly. Once you bosh an i7 and 1080ti into the Gallium its very close to the germanium although I see its had a price cut too.

Re: mobo. What about the maximus x hero - that would get you £60 cashback with an 8700k and has more usb I think.
I made my decision after watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8y0JBsZ5t0&t=2s, and this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf_ejKGzd9c. Do you think the ocuk techlabs is able to have the same performance?? Let me know about your gaming temperatures! My objective is to keep the cpu under 80s.
I guess It's better to go ryzen if you decide to go 8600K, specially in my case because I play at 1440p. In the future the extra threads might become superior to the 8600K.

I think I will try to keep the default motherboard, that way is easier to keep the discount. (there are a certain number of components or key one you can't change in order to keep the price discount.)

hi all, thinking of ordering the germanium. just a few questions, would it worth upgrading to the titan from the 1080ti or any other upgrades you can think of.
Thinking of this monitor .....Predator x34a
If you were buying just the gpu, for the price difference it's better to go titan, but with the germanium it's better to save money and buy other components instead! If you are specially gaming, the 1080ti beats the titan.
