Hello. Currently, I have a Crucial 128gb ssd, and its flawless. However, its getting filled up quite quickly (few games, patches windows update etc). I was thinking, should i get another for raid 0 (i cant really see the point in this tbh for some odd reason0 or shall i get a 150gb raptor to use with some games? I hear they are pretty quick?

Money is a concern, so i may go for the raptor.
Thanks.

Thats the thing mate. I got a Sammy f3 500gb, good drives but i can notice a big performance difference between them.

Most of the difference is access time. The raptor will improve(about 1/3rd to half) on that but not anything like an SSD. With that in mind I don't think you'd be happy with a raptor.

I use a single M225 and a 150gb VR. I wouldnt see the benefit of raid and the VR cost me £65 from members market.

I'm with Minstadave on this, get a 1TB Samsung F3 and forget about the Raptor. There is not a massive difference in performance and with the F3 you get so much more capacity, plus it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Approx £200 for a mechanical 300GB HDD is bonkers nowadays.

I don't know if this stands for all Raptors, but the pair I have here are far to noisy for me, I was so happy when I replaced them with a pair of SSD's.
