if I wanted Starcraft or Warhammer i'd buy it !!!

What the hell posesses devs to kill off the best thing about this series of games , base building and harvesting !!

And to finish it off , a unit cap !! This is a C&C game in name only and wouldn't be at all surprised to see it in a bargain bin sooner rather than later.

I reckon it's all part of some conspiricy lol They are trying to make the crapest PC games they can so PC gamers will give up and switch to console gaming. Which is cheaper for game developers, easier to develop games for, and they make a higher return. :(
 
I think the levelling system to unlock more units is going to make it so hard for newbie's or latecomers to play properly they just won't even try after the first shot.

I was using auto match on the beta and it kept throwing teams of 5 level 1-3's versus teams of 5 level 10+.

Being destroyed withing a few minutes does not make for fun playing.
 
Patch broke the game for me - I click Play and nothing happens. Also it downloads the same damn files every single time I run it.

Talk about shoddy programming.
 
This game is average in many ways, and terrible in many others.

It excels at nothing and I would not recommend it under any circumstances.

Using a game engine from 2003 is not acceptable.

Overall, this is a lazy game, with a terrible interface, and lots of stolen and badly done ideas. Think of all the bad WoW clones, this is the RTS equivalent.
 
Well I was talking to a friend on MSN who actually has this working.

He asked me "Do you like base building?"
I said "Yes"
His reply - "Well there's none of that."

Next...

"Do you like resource gathering?"
"Yes"
"None of that either."

It's heartbreaking to watch EA **** all over the C&C series in the hope of making a few quid. I'm about 99% sure i'll be keeping my money, especially after the absolute crock that was RA3. I actually pre-ordered it as i'm a huge C&C fan but it took a matter of days before I bunged it on the MM.
 
Whoever designed this game needs to find a new job.

The lack of understanding in even the GUI design is mindblowing.

It's like, they decided on a feature that should be in the game, but got the manager to implement it rather than someone who knows about designing GUIs (or a person who has played an RTS game at all in their life).

Edit: The studio is closing anyway, making my first statement invalid.
 
I'm not going to go into it too much, but suffice to say CnC4 is a terrible game. Everything about it is bad and / or badly thought out.

That doesn't sound very appealing at all :/

I mean, I love the C&C series and all but if there isn't any base building, harvesting or even any strategical element..... then what type of game is it? :/

To be honest, I was expecting something along the lines of Company of Heroes with some C&C style gameplay atleast, but from this thread alone it seems like the game is going to be a failure on all fronts, sadly.

Will probably end up yarrr'n it :(
 
I get what VortX is saying but I don't even think the game looks that good. I honestly can't think of a single good feature of the game. The UI is rubbish. The lack of any kind of resource management, base building, or cover system makes me wonder what exactly I'm supposed to be doing that's tactical except building what the game tells me to build. Oh, that is of course if you've levelled up enough to unlock the unit you need.

I used to love the CnC series and It's so dissapointing to see that EA have managed to do such a good job of ruining it.
 
Tried to download it the other day but I was getting stupid speeds and I wasn't going to wait 10hours too download. I just tried again to download it and now it says invalid code.
