Ive got my AS Exams coming up in about a week. Im taking business, media and law. Business I think im capable of passing, and the same with media. Law on the other hand ive totally ****** it up, so badly. I dont understand anything from it. Do you think uni would take me with say 2 CS in business and media? Also, is a fast track course any good, as im thinking of taking that next year? Cheers

Don't forget there is always clearing if you do get turned down earlier :)

Not an excuse to work less mind, just a reminder that it may not be all doom and gloom :)

If you've only got 2 E's at A-level then you should be asking yourself whether you're cut out for another 3 years of academia, IMO.

You should get in to an ok university with those grades. A lot of University courses are undersubscribed and so those uni's will accept less than the original asking grades to fill the spots. Media Studies will be accepted by most universities I think. General Studies however, won't be, so if your college/school suggests that, I'd recommend trying to pick up another AS instead.

I got in with a C... after grate GCSE and having worked hard to get them. i just couldn't be bothered with 'A' levels :(.

Also make sure you know what you want to do as a career. Or find a degree which leads to many jobs. Just because you like it as a hobby. Doesn't mean you will like it as a job

as long as is not over subscribed, they will offer you a place, you are their customer afterall :) just work hard after you get in....

Depending on what you want to do and the grade of your a levels/as levels will reflect which uni you get into. just apply for as many as you can or at least all the ones that are suitable.

Hold the phone! You are not going to pass Law, and only believe yourself to be 'capable' of passing your other two subject yet you want to do a degree? Now, I'm not suggest that a degree is particularly difficult, but maybe it's not the right path for you?

I have to question the dedication you have to academic life? Or are you going for the poontang? Because believe it or not you can have a good time without going to Uni. Shocking, I know.

Don't think I'm being overly critical here, just, you know, saying what someone else will say to you in less polite terms. Well, after the polytechnic parade have said 'YEAH GO FOR IT MAAAN, BEER, WOOOO'.

[edit] Damn you, Visage. Missed your post. Gaaaay.

I technically only have 2 A-levels and I got into a good uni. But I also have 2 AS levels, and they're all pretty good grades. So only having 2 A-levels doesn't mean it's impossible to get into uni, but it really does depend on other circumstances. Not many unis will just throw your application in the bin if they see there's only 2 A-levels (although Southampton will apparently).

You can probably get on to a foundation degree with 2 A-Levels, they dont need as many UCAS points and AFAIK you just need to do an extra year at the end of the foundation degree to turn it in to an honours degree or something like that.

I got into uni with a C in geography, a C in General Studies (which doesnt really count!) and an E in biology. The ironic thing is that it was a biology degree!

I got in to uni with a C and D at A level, and an A and C(1 mark off a B :() at AS level
