If your willing to wait and see what happens to the prices then it might be worth it. If you like burning money get one now;)

Invest in some asbestos trousers, or alternatively get a savings account.

The 295 is the new performance king, but for how long that remains to be seen. If you really want a 4870X2 or 295 you really should be using a monitor with a higher res, as you will see little advantage over the 280 or soon to be released 285 @ 1920 x 1200 i think.

I dunno, both the 7950 GX2 and 9800 GX2 had notoriously short lifespans (5 months and 3 months respectively). My advise would be 'stay well away because you'll be kicking yourself for it later this year.'

I'd think about the GTX 285 coming on the 15th of January.
In games that HATE SLI or Xfire, it is the BEST card.
In games that like SLI or Xfire, it is one of the best cards (beaten only by the 295 and the X2).
In games that LOVE SLI or Xfire, it is still great on its own, and you can add another card for SLI later!

well i have got 1 of these coming aswell as an i7 should be 1 badass system. i was going to sli gtx280 but then i would not be able to use my creative titanium soundcard i brought last week :(

Until NV driver update;) Lets face it ATI have had 6 months to get their drivers right, I wonder after 6 weeks what NV can do...

Thing is, the 295 isnt exactly using brand new tech, so I would be dubious about how much of a gain it can pull in it's driver updates since pretty much two 260/280s glued together. Any gains that are to be pulled off, surely have already came about for people using two 200 series cards in SLI?

Currently running a q6600 @3,8ghz, and im in need of a new graphics card as my 8800 gts isnt cutting the mustard at 1920x1200. Im considering the 295 but ill wait and see some reveiws of the 285 and how itll be priced.

You need a high end I7 system to get the best out of it otherwise your CPU will be the bottleneck so it would be a waste.

As it is priced now, it's a waste of money. Would have bought one if it brought massive increases to match its price difference, but nope, and the whole CUDA/PhysX is not worth the difference either, I'd rather play games on my PC than watch tech demoes thank you very much.
