I was casually flicking through my DVD collection, and decided to watch a number of films back to back. As you can tell from the list I am clearly a connoisseur of the drama-documentary genre. The running sequence was:
Rocky IV
Predator
Terminator
Aliens
Now, in Rocky IV Apollo Creed dies. Some big russian dude twots the fork out of him and he's there with Rambo cradling his head in a totally masculine and non bi-curious way.
Pretty cool movie I thought, nice realistic fight at the end. I then fire up Predator. This guy "Dutch" turns up in a helicopter and lands and then who should he meet? Apollo Creed! Man, that was such a twist...it doesn't go into the background of them cloning him or anything, that's left pretty much unsaid...but you can see it's clearly the same guy.
However, he's pretty useless as he dies AGAIN although to be fair it was an alien and not a Russian this time. Still he must feel pretty gutted.
So onto the next movie, "Terminator", and whatthe?? "Dutch" turns out to be a cyborg/robot thingy. No wonder that alien couldn't kill him...but he ends up being killed by some woman, which is pretty weak if you ask me, and not something I like to see at the end of a film. Apollo Creed wasn't in this film, which was strange, as he'd been in both I'd watched so far, so statistically speaking he was likely to be in this one too...
So onto the final film - apparently this is a sequel, Alien or Aliens - well Aliens must be better, more aliens = better film, it's simple factual mathematics.
Anyway, Reece turns out to be like Apollo Creed, some sort of cloning thing going on yet again...
Anyway, he dies in this one too, he's my new Apollo Creed I think, the token clone-able guy they can kill off.
Anyway, one of the punks is obviously a clone too, as he turned up in Aliens as "Hudson".
I was looking for pics of Hudson, but found a picture of Kate Hudson and lost interest in anything else for 5 minutes.
Anyway, this film ends up the same as Terminator, with some daft bint beating an unstoppable alien killing machine using a JCB. Far fetched much?
That's the last time I sit down to watch these so-called "factual" drama-documentaries.
