It is indeed horrific, I can't remember how old I was when I watched it, but it's so grim.
I know it's now rated as a 15, but I'm pretty sure I was shown it in school when I was 10 or so. One of the old "Today we're going to watch a film instead" lessons, and in gets pushed a trolley with a TV and vhs on it. Normally it's was YAY! But that time, it was Threads....

Ah, I remember that experience at primary school. Sitting down on the floor and out comes the TV, where they showed various videos of all the ways you can die by walking on railway tracks, or going into electricity substations etc. Don’t think we got treated to Threads however!

Those were the days! :)

Decided when watched it at school no way I am living through that and just topping myself. Same rule applies :)

I remember taking the view at the time that we lived sufficiently near somewhere sufficiently likely to get nuked that we'd be dead and none of it mattered.
Back home in Norfolk we were surrounded by RAF and USAF bases so no chance.

Now, live between Stevenage and Luton. Who'd want to nuke Luton or Stevenage? It'd improve the scenery and raise property value for a start....
