Says free shipping on most orders according to reddit, and mine (to the UK)

EDIT: saying that...

Confirmation email says:
"Taxes, Surcharges and Fees: Applicable shipping, taxes and duties will be added to and charged in your payment upon shipment of the unit."

But I'm almost certain shipping fees can't be added on once you've bought a product... literally against the terms of most online card payment providers (know this from creating websites that are capable of doing this and making them PCI DSS compliant)

I saw something on reddit confirming that shipping is free for accessories.

I think the guff in the email is just some standard fluff. I had a similar thing about taxes and shipping when pre-ordering the rift, on enquiry the price did indeed already include VAT (and shipping later turned out to be free, but that's another story).
 
Checking my bank account I've not been charged yet.

If you 100% don't want to be charged until dispatch order with Amazon. You'll get all the same pre-order bonuses and is scheduled to be dispatched on the same day. Likelihood is a Prime order from Amazon would come before an Oculus order as well.
 
Yeah I actually pre-ordered with Amazon (Prime) in the end. Bought my Rift from them as well just recently as you just cannot beat them for customer service. If I end up getting them delivered a little later then so be it but hopefully as you say they will be with me on the 6th as stated.
 
I'm just being hopelessly optimistic that having my place in line from the Rift pre-order might mean I end up getting the touch controllers before the general release date....

keep dreaming right?
 
I pre-ordered mine from Oculus. But they are having trouble with my address, have contacted support to say what they will do. Would love to get it in time for xmas.
 
just ordered mine, not really touched the oculas as Ive been waiting for these...really want to play the carnival games, looks like great fun...

Im sure when they shipped the Oculus it came from Ireland and no postal costs so I expect the same here.
 
Store said something like 13-23 December for me, so I ordered on the rainforest and that still lists that I'll receive them on the 6th. Fingers crossed.
