Don't listen to these snobs. Asda is great. A huge range of fresh veg, isles of foreign food. Including large bags of spices for cheap. It's a great shop for us cooks.

My best mate is near an Asda and he says the fruit and veg lasts longer and the meat is better quality than Sainsburys. I've been watching the 'special offers' in Sainsburys and they ain't so special. Prices fixed deliberately high which then go to 3 for 2 or three for £5.50 etc. I DON'T WANT THAT MANY, I WANT ONE AT A NORMAL PRICE

What's wrong with Asda? I work there and have no problems....there are more couples than single mums that shop around, plus theres someone from Hollyoaks that shops at our store, as well as the sister of someone famous shops there as well. Plenty of older people though. I really don't know what your smoking but Asda does not contain 100% single mums shopping...

Think people are living 10 years ago..

Since lidl and aldi have opened. Asda has got a lot better and most of the scum now shop at those 2 places.

The problem is we don't have an Asda here so our shopping is dominated by damn Sainsburys and we pay over the odds for day to day things. The alternative is Lidl where the floor is sticky and the staff smell and don't speak English. At least Asda is clean and the clientelle are limited to junkie northern blonde lasses.

I don't go into ASDA much but that is simply because there are other options closer, I was just a bit curious as to why people looked down on it. Supermarkets are much of a muchness as far as I'm concerned.

I do my weekly shop in asda. It's pretty damn awesome. I used to shop at Tesco a few years ago before the asda was built.

A few supermarkets were doing a nice deal on magners last week - I think it was 3 boxes for £20.

I'm happy i'm in a situation where I can go to small independants for all my fresh food, but theres nothing wrong with supermarket shopping.
Saying that, supermarket food never measures up to quality produce from specialists. But is significantly cheaper.

Brown Ale is not the drink it was.

It could be topped up in a scooner and keep its head but it loses it very quickly now and it is sadly not even brewed in Newcastle any more.
