The company I work for have been kind (or stupid!) enough to issue me with a new laptop to keeo at home. Me being me I have installed a SNES and megadrive emulator with games on the laptop (its too underpowered for any decent PC games) but I really want to use my wired 360 controller with it like I do on my own PC. Unfortunately when I plug it into the USB port I get a message that you have to be an administrator to install any hardware.

I have tried restarting windows in safe mode, but then my work login details dont work, so I restart in safe mode with networking but I then get the same message about admin rights. is there ANY way I can get this controller working, or am I going to have to get used to playing sonic and mario with a keyboard when I should be working? :D

Theres a floppy boot disk you can download which allows you to reset the local admin password. I'm sure a google search will locate it

However an audit on your laptop would be sure to turn up the fact it has been changed. I'd suggest asking your IT admins nicely...

What's the point? Your company have been good enough to give you a laptop so why not be content with that? Honestly, do you really need to play games on your work laptop?
