I'm buying the gears Limited edition 360 bundle. I think it includes a live subscription aswell. Firstly how long is the network cable to go into the phone socket because im worried it wont reach. (can i use my PC's modem network cable?). Also what other essential game should i get? Forza 2? TDU? and how good is dead rising? (I love zombies :P)

Thanks!

Hi, the console comes with a 1 month gold trial card. Do you mean the cable that comes with the xbox, as in how far it will go?

It doesnt go into the phone socket it could go into your pc, you just set up a little network thing, ICS.

If your getting live, then download some demos, including ones of all the games you are asking about and try them for yourself.

The network cable should go from your 360 to your router/modem.

As said you can also share it through your PC using ICS.

Just looked at mine, it's about 4-5m long.

The 360 just uses a normal CAT5 cable so you're PC one will work ok, the one that comes with the package is 5m long I think.

Dead Rising and Forza 2 are two of the better games on the 360.

If you're wanting a racing game, avoid TDU and get Forza 2. PGR3 is quite good for a quick blast as well.

Dead Rising is probably my favourite game for the system. If you like classic zombie flicks (esp. Romero's original Dawn of the Dead) you'll love it.

I love the original dawn of the dead, i long for a zombie game that captures that more light hearted feel, rather than trying to scare you silly with zombies that run really fast. I want shufflers damn it! /rant over

So forza 2 + dead rising and of course gears in the bundle. Looking good.

Try to get hold of a play + charge kit as well, I found using AAA batteries a right pain in the arse. The unnoficial ones can be had for under £10 second hand :)

Assuming your CRT only had VGA input, you'll have to use a the VGA cable that can be bought for about £15 (I think). Don't buy *ANYTHING* but the official one though, as the 3rd party ones are absolutely awful apparently.

Don't listen to all the hype, mine was fine on my old TV, I had both the MS and unoffical one and couldn't tell any difference so I sold the MS one for £££.

Are these cables really hard to find? I mean will there be one in my local ****** for example.

Not sure about that particular store (they're a competitor by the way, OcUK sell 360's), but I'm sure the major high street game stores will have them.

I'm talking about the VGA cable, not a scart cable.

I got mine for £10 from a very well known 4 letter game shop :).
