getting a console for one game only

would you do that? if there was one game only you wanted to play on a console, knowing you won't be playing any other games on it :confused: that game is console-only... yes
 
Yes i have done it before play station for the gran turismos games PS2 and PS3 the PS3 was sold with in a few months tho.

Also 360 for forza.
 
There's always one game that will finally persuade a gamer to get a 2nd or 3rd console. For me I was near to getting a PS3 for Uncharted 1 & 2 but it was Heavy Rain that tipped me over.

Scribblenauts sold me a DS (a mistake now I'll admit) and Tactics Ogre got me to part with my cash for a PSP.

There will always be a game that finally makes you go 'right I need that machine now'. For me it was Gears 1 for 360 and uncharted for the PS3. Though I did not get the PS3 for a while after it was out.

Once you have the machine then the possibilities then open up. If you are a true gamer (what ever that means) then you will be attracted by others genres and will want other games IMO.
 
It's always one game that makes be buy one, but then I enjoy all the exclusives it has to offer.

I don't think I'd buy one, play a single game then never use it again. That would be madness.
 
It depends really. If I knew the game would be one of my favorite games ever then yes. If it was just a pretty good game then no.

I recently bought an Xbox 360 purely to play Battlefield 3 with my friends. Not quite the same, but It's unlikely i'll purchase another 360 game as it has no exclusives I want and i still think the PS3 is far superior.

But it was only £70 so it's nowt. I wouldn't have paid twice that.
 
I've bought a console for one single game. I got an Xbox 360 just for Gears of War. But I knew that I would play other games on it too. I wouldn't buy a one just to play one game on it though and not touch other titles on that console.
 
The main reason I bought an xbox 360 (already had PC + PS3) was to play Alan Wake although I've since discovered other games that I'm glad I'm able to play that are not out on the other two.

Just bought a 360 + Kinect for the Kinect star wars game that isn't out yet......

however have Forza 4 pre ordered and will find other games to play in the mean time.
 
I've never picked up a PS3, what with a good quality gaming PC there was never much point, but I always said if they remade FFVII in teh style of the tech demo they released I'd buy a PS3 just for that. Probably still would.
 
Probably not but I'm guessing when you get said console, it will suck you in and you will end up doing more and more on it. :D
