Brought my boy a DSi for christmas. Got it out last night and thought i'd do the setup so it just works when he gets it.
Well, I may be mistaken but it only support WEP ? thats pretty rubbish for a new device is it not !

My wireless setup uses (and i'm guessing the exact letters from memory) AES TKIP or some such version. Whats going to be the best way of getting him on the internet without sacrificing complete wireless security, is there a way ?

I really don't want to knock my whole setup back to WEP just for a DSi, mind you i'm not even sure what he could do on the interweb with it but it would be nice if it worked

/edit... google has just helped a little, apparently connections 4 to 6 support better encryption, not sure if AES tkip wotsits name version is supported though and the DSi isn't so good at getting dns servers so your best off putting them in manually.

Yea, i'll give WPA2 a go when I get home.. i'm trying help a friends son with his too. Can't believe how complex it is for a product aimed at kids.

The DSi supports WPA but only DSi-specific games will work with it. Regular DS games still need to use WEP (or no security at all )
Must admit it's my only gripe with the system.
