Anyone know a rough cost to getting a Homebase kitchen fitted?
Its about 7 base units, 5 wall units and two work tops (with two joins)

Obviously wont be getting Homebase to fit, id do it myself but i just dont have the time.

Anyone got experience with getting them fitted?

Just out of interest, why didn't you go to a local full-service kitchen fitting company, it may well have turned out cheaper than doing it the way you are.

Ive been thinking about this. We got a quote from Homebase for the kitchen (which is flat packed), it came to a total price of £6000 then they did all their 'sale' discounts and got it down to £2000, how the hell they did that... im guessing the hike up their prices in January so they can make it seem like you are getting a decent discount.

Ive heard that Homebase fitting prices are about the same price of the actual kitchen itself.
You have to remember that this kitchen is a certain colour that we have not found anywhere else.

We are just starting to phone around the fitters today, the few we have talked to also 'build and fit' their own kitchens, so we will be looking into that as well... but because of the colour its not going to be much cheaper to get the fitter to make/design the kitchen.

I would agree but he is only looking the cabinets fitted and the worktops jointed there is no mention of plumbing thats why i said about £300 to £400. That is what i usually charge, if you are looking the plumbing and wiring done your probably talking around £500.

Thats right, the plumbing and power sockets will stay put.

Ill keep these prices in mind when getting quotes.
There are a few niggly bits to 'shape' the cupboards around but nothing to taxing.
If found out that you can get worktops longer than 3m, we need one about 3.5m. Homebase only do them at 3m, apparently we could save a lot if there are less joins in the worktop.

Plumbing isnt too hard, infact none of it is really hard (infact i enjoy things like this) but its time i dont have. Also if im honest my workmanship will be good but not as good as a pro, some who knows all the tricks to get things to fit perfect and they will do it in half the time it would take me to do it.

Im in Southampton, but ill probably be going through checkatrade.com, at least then ill get some reviews.
