Getting a large amount of cash out.

well with my bank I paid in over £10,000 in cash over the counter at 11am, and at 3pm attempted to withdraw £3,000, nope, sorry sir, we can't do that!
3 working days please...
This may be a stupid question, but if you wanted it 4 hours later why didn't you just pay in £7K and keep the £3K in cash?

Get a bankers draft... you never know who's looking over your shoulder eyeing the cash.

My dad went into HSBC to get a draft from a business account for £10k - the teller told him they didn't have time can he take cash... did - left the bank with it in a big brown envelope concealed under jacket and got robbed by 3 black blokes a few streets away getting into his car. Didn't steal the car or his phone, but knew he had the money in his jacket

never proved as an insider job (I have my suspicions) so may have been a bloke in the queue, rang his mates up nearby

So if you were a millionaire how would you draw out very large amounts then? Lets say over 20k.

For a start, you almost certainly wouldn't be banking with a high street bank, it would be Coutts or similar, who only deal with high value customers. They do things differently to keep the rich people happy ;).

I know halifax wont give you more than £1200 over the counter unless you "order" it in advance.

Halifax gave me more than that out before without asking them. They ask for ID though when withdrawing more than £1200.

I don't think you'll have any problem getting £2500 out, if you urgently need it then call them just to make sure.

I withdrew £8000 cash from my bank... I got the money, but i did was asked a few extra security questions and was asked to come back in an hour to collect the money..

Plenty of millionaires use high street banks. After all, a million isn't all that much these days.

I doubt there are all that many people that have access to over £1million in their bank account that use high street banks.
Plenty of people who have a net worth of £1million will do though.

Obviously no one is going to keep £1m in a high street bank account, that's not what I said though :)
