Getting a MAC code out of AOL

Hi guys,

got fed up with the service today so i decided to ring them and get a mac code so i can transfer to Be There cause my line supports 14mb ADSL 2+ was hoping to get it all done today but they told me it would be 5 days to get the code is this true?

Up to 5 days, yes. Anything longer than that is a breach of OFCOM regs and leaves them liable to a fine, which is probably why they quoted you the maximum time they're allowed to wait. Usually you'll get a MAC within 24 hours but some ISPs are worse than others.

They told me about 5 days when i migrated away last year, but i got mine not long after phoning, im sure it took less than an hr.

It doesen't take 5 days but they just say that, but what I did is say I rang up OFCOM and I said that OFCOM told me that it shouldn't take longer, and if it does just say I will complain to OFCOM - just quite OFCOM in your sentence and they'll give it to you straight away - it doesen't take 5 days

3 Days and still no MAC, they told me it would be emailed to my original account, :mad:

I would give them a call.

Every time I have requested a MAC from any ISP I have had it within minutes.

spoke to the monkeys at aol to request another and the guy gave me one there and then, so the other guy obv didnt process it :mad:

, meh hopefully Be there will be better at 14x the speed im getting at the moment

Just say you spoke to Ofcom and that they said you have to hand over the MAC code now otherwise Ofcom will ring them up or something along the lines of that
