Getting a mouse from a cat, results in this....

At least yours was alive. I came home from work the other day to find a decapitated mouse in the front room... smears of blood over everything! Lovely.

The kittens have to learn how to hunt somehow that's why Mum's brought them back into the house!

Our two are part feral we think (they were rescue cats found on the street as 3 month old kittens. No idea how long they were there) and at this time of year, not a week goes past without us burying another dead animal of some description. We've had 2 birds and one mouse in the past week alone.

Best thing we've had is bats brought in. 2 in the space of 3 days! Still alive and flying around the house... they were fun to catch and release!

Ours regularly drags pigeons back through our cat flap, fully alive. Think he brings them so him and the dog can chase it round the house as the dog cant get out the cat flap any more.

Our cat does exactly the same thing!

Except it came walking into the house yesterday, dragging a dead fox - Like nothing had happened! He's made of pure evil I think.

Roadkill I hope/presume? Or was it a cub?

Wow thats a good catch! you should get a tooth and put it on his collar (or head on a stick) so he can show any other fox he meets what a hard nut he is! Cats are indeed pure fluffy, cuddly, overly affectionate evil.

It was bigger than the cat, so not a cub - And it didn't look like roadkill, but I can't be certain. He is a big cat though!

Do your mice not jump? A box that size would never have held the mice that my cat used to bring back.

And the easiest way to avoid scratches is to get a tight grip on the ruff at the back of the cats neck, it won't harm the cat but it more or less immobilises it.

Meh, my cat makes it easy to retrieve mice off him. He just bites the head off, crunches it down, and leaves his staff (me) to pick up the pieces.

i once saw my cat catch a little blackbird, and scoff it down in a couple of bites. bones and everything. :D she's passed away now :( got cancer from her ears being white.. (they got burnt all the time)

Ours likes to bring in moths and flies and other creepy crawlies she finds at night. Some days we come downstairs to find bits of moth scattered over the front room! :p

Years ago a previous cat of ours was sat on the front step eating something. Upon closer inspection it was a fish. Unfortunately it looked like a fish that belonged to a neighbour who took great pride in their fish pond. Turns out that particular fish was missed as it was rather expensive :D
