Getting a new I-phones SE to replace my 3Gs ( yes I tend to keep things too long from new, split new car eight years last car now a 2 years from split new factory ordered that will be kept, My pc is a 2004 build I’m typing on just now and my phone on the lowest tariff of £7a month on 3 has done me proud.

Anyway friend is the opposite like new tech he’s on 6 Plus 128GB but then he uses it for technical stuff with his work so the screen is handy. His advice was id regret not getting the 64GB version over the 16GB. I do tend to use the new phone like a camera as its so good these days but I got a new ipad Air 64GB last Christmas and tend to throw all my pictures over to it.

It’s about £100 more for the 64Gb over the £350 16GB. Thoughts? I don’t know how much space the IOS off the bat.

Get the 64gb,if you fill it with photos and vids it will soon mount up.
If you go for a 16gb you will constantly be removing stuff just to update the phone as it needs x amount of space to upgrade the software.

Apple charges £0.79 per month for 50GB of iCloud space, and with that you can enable a setting that maintains plenty of free space on your phone by uploading all your pics and only keeping thumbnails locally. It also means all your Apple devices (iPad, Mac) will have all the photos, all the time (it syncs them everywhere). If you are never going to install any apps of significance, then with the iCloud upgrade, 16GB *should* be fine. £100 is 10 years of £0.79 per month.

Bear in mind the operating system uses a good half of the 16GB, so you won't be able to install any big games for example.

My dads got a 3gs, had it for a year now and knows no different, its top of the range compared to his old nokia thing he had.

I've got a 16GB iPhone 5 and am struggling with space. I don't have a silly amount of apps installed etc but only have about 500MB free with careful maintenance.

I'd definitely recommend the 64GB despite the extra outlay.

iPhone 3GS? You poor, poor soul.
Not financial restraint I just roll like that. If it works and does its job I’m happy. I got a new Ipad Air2 and its 64GB. It was something I thought I would use on occasion but it's more or less my go to instead of my aging PC. Yes its 12 years old.

Friends get new apple phones what seems like every year I’ve seen then burn through 4, 5 and now 6. The only thing that really did it for me was the few times I’ve been caught out with only my phone and taking crap pictures as the 3Gs takes crap pictures to the SE or 6 now.

64Gb it is. Cheers for the thoughts.

:D
