I have never really had a phone on a contract before, current one is sim only 12 month contract which ended a year ago
i just pay £10 a month and buy a sim free phone normaly

anyway, so im looking for a Samsung A70

Phone is £370 Sim Free
if I put my Sim card in it, its £10 a month,
so after 1 year it would cost me = £490

so i thought i would look at contracts to see see if i can get something cheaper

so i looked on CPW :

3rd one down for example says £360 minimum
i guess it means not including international calls and premium numbers, but otherwise it would be £360 for a year ?

or because its only a 1 month contract it would cost that in just 1 month ?

Over on USwitch i found this :

£467 for a year ?

Cheaper doing it this way ?

The first screenshot will require you to pay £344 upfront to cover the cost of the phone then £16 a month thereafter (on the third one down).

Within the detail of the screenshot, the Tesco has no upfront cost and the total cost is over the term of the contract.

You can get a Mate 20 Pro with 5gb data on a 24 month contract at a total cost of £661 on affordable mobiles. However, Huawei are offering an additional £100 cash back on the Mate 20 pro and you’ll probably get some cash back going to the deal through topcashback.

The Mate 20 Pro is a far better phone than the Samsung A70.

thanks but no thanks
sticking with The A70

Monitor deals on hotuk ? .. samsung were doing £100 trade in, any android, + £60 c/b until last month, so potentially £200 for phone

You generally get better discounts on 24 month contracts and since you'll be paying £10 a month for SIM only anyway why not look at those? Nothing stopping you from selling the phone after a year when you fancy a change and you just using the service.

Looking at uSwitch you can get the phone on a 24 month contract for £20 monthly without upfront with Fonehouse. That's £480 and only marginally more expensive than 12 month contracts you're looking for.

I don't know why people bother with Carphone Warehouse, it's very rare that they are remotely competitive with resellers.

just bought an A70, 12 month contract, 2Gb data a month, with 5000 TXTS and 5000 minutes, cost price was nearly £500, i got it for £310 all in for the whole year ! :D

phone itself is £380 !

and i still have my other phone to sell on
