Getting a place on my own...

Hey all. about 15 months ago I rented a small house on my own and loved the peace I got. I moved back with the folks after 8 months as I was basically paying out more than I was earning. I'm looking at this idea again and would basically have £250 a month left out of my wages to spend on whatever I want. Bills, rent, gas, electric, food all covered.

Would you be able to live on this?

I think £250 is far too little as you are bound to get some bills or need to buy something and you will be skint until you next get paid.

i would say its plenty as long as your sensible with it. Depends though how much you go out, hobbies you have etc

£250 a month to live off? It will be hard, as said above. Unexpected bills may arrise. Have you taken decoration, furniture fees into this aswell?

This is similar to my current dilemma! Not worked out the figures properly, but rent prices in Harrogate are ridiculous

. Don't really want to move out of the area though.

Kind of like my situation. I currently live in Bangor and work in Belfast. I want to live in Bangor but if I moved to Belfast, I'd save over £100 on travel. I think I need to think about this in more detail lol.

That's plenty! About £60 a week to play with, how could you not live on that?

Do you drive, have you taken petrol into account?

£250 a month left over after living expenses is more than enough, well if like me you don't drink, smoke or have a car.

With food, bills and other expenses covered I could happily live off £250/month.

My biggest expenditures at the moment are rent, food and petrol.

I could easily live on that, however the only other bill would be an internet subscription as I don't go out, or drink.

i'd much rather live with my parents than waste the £230 a month + all bills i'm paying now.

realistically £250 a month isn't much.. esp if you have a car

i easily spend about £200 a month on going out
