getting a refund from cex. possible?

tbh It's a PITA getting a refund from them, I bought an xbox game a few years back and got it home to find that there was a hole in the top (ie bit of the reflective surface missing) so would crash after 10 mins play (of when I got to the same area in the game).
I took it back and they would have none of it "all the games are working and tested before going out" and would have none of it at all.
never shopped there since.

Download the seatools software, if it fails open the thing up and type the hdds model and serial number into the support part of seagates website and see if its still in warranty. Most seagate drivers have a 3 or 5 years warranty. You'd still have to pay postage tho..

I've been very lucky with cex so far, most things things i bought from them have been at the very lest nearly new and in a lot of cases sealed!

CeX are a dirty bunch when it comes to refunds, just don't bother getting hardware from there ever again.

When you compare their prices to what you can buy from OC/UK new, it fails me why anybody buys hardware from them.

They are good value for DVD's & games though, you do have to check the disk carefully mind.

This. I've bought some HD DVD's crazy cheap from them. Yeah I know it's a dead format but getting 1080p films for £1.50 is a win for me! Even better is how easy it is to rip them. Literally a 2 step process. All my HD DVDs are sitting on a HDD in a MKV container without any re-encoding. :D
