Getting an appointment is a joke - do any of you go through the pain like I do?

they always say "ring back in the afternoon"

I'm fed up of this consistent problem! anyone feel the same?

My one is first come first served for a set number of appointments per day with the phones opening at 8.30. I've never failed to get an appointment that day if I call when they open.

ring back? why, they look at their diaries and pen you in the next available slot. it may be 2 weeks away but whats to stop them doing it then and there

i've never been asked to ring back in the afternoon just to get booked in

I can phone my doctors surgery in the morning and get a appointment the same day. Never had a problem with this one.

However, before we moved here we lived in Elgin and even getting through on the phone was a challenge then. To make it even worse they would'nt even let you book an appointment for more than a day in advance.

Same.

Can sometimes be a pain getting through as there's always a deluge at 8.30, and there's only 2 phone lines, but I've never not been able to get an appointment when I've needed one.

My doctors are good, phones open at 8:15 and its on a first come first serve basis to see the duty doctor.

Ive always seen a doctor that day before 10. I do however feel the appointments are rushed and not much time given to see me.

Not really like that in mine

* they open at 8 but you never get through at that time because the lines are so busy
* if you do get through they say ring back in the afternoon at 2
* when u ring at 2 u never get through again
* when you do get through they say ring back tomorrow
* also there is one of them who is so moody and never wants to give me an appointment
* one of them is nice - she goes out of her way but don't get through to her often.

This happens everyday in my surgery whenever I have rang them up. Maybe it is time to change

Mine is terrible as well.

Whether online or over the phone its very hard to get an appointment within 3-4 days.

Luckily I don't need to go that often, but when I was having blackouts and not sleeping earlier this year I had to go Private.

I always get an appointment on the day if I need one. I think really, unless it's an ongoing health issue, if you can afford to wait 3/4 days you probably don't need the appointment.
