Hi.
More and more lately ive found myself wanting an iPhone for reasons that are beyond me.
Yes i enjoy my iPod Touch, but occasionaly yearn for more portability.
Now, im perfectly happy with my N95-8Gb, and the recently added W&W makes it even better, but ive been doing some maths.

Asuming i can get the goin rates for used N95-8Gbs & 32Gb iPod Touches, coupled with some other money i have 'spare' i should be able to buy out the remainder of my existing contract with Tmobile, sign a new'en with 02, and get a 16Gb iPod with a total loss of.....£15.

Thoughts & musings people?
Worth doing? Plain silly? Or a masterplan? lol.

Thanks in advance all. :).

Sounds alright to me. I recently upgraded from my N95 to an iPhone (I got bored waiting on the HTC Touch HD).

Love it, internet browsing is fantastic with Safari, multi touch games are fun (touch grind) etc.

The only thing I'm not so happy with is the texting, specifically how you view messages. This can probably be modded some how, but I haven't looked into it yet!

I was originally put off the iPhone because i used to txt a lot, but now im emailing far more, and email on my touch is brillient. Where as on my N95, as good as the googlemail client is, the Exchange client is next to useless.

Has anyone used the iPhone with Exchange?
Whats the battery life like on an iPhone anyway? Obviously it depends on usage, but whats the average?

Wonder how much i could get for my N95-8Gb & iPod...?
Used iPod Touch 32Gb's seem to go for about £200, where as N95-8Gb's seem to vary between £150 & £300.
The N95-8Gb is in good nick. A few minor scratches in 'odd' places, but none on the screen, completely perfect the screen is. Its about a year old, and is both SIM unlocked and uses the generic Nokia firmware rarther than a branded one?

The text isn't that bad... just not what I'm used to on the N95. I haven't had the chance to set up email on mine yet, only had it for 3-4weeks.

As for battery life, it doesn't seem that bad. I get around 2 days max- with mostly texting, phone calls, internet browsing and games (in order of use).

I havent used my iPhone with Exchange but I can comment on the battery life. I don't find it a problem actually. I use computers at work and home a fair amount and anywhere you go there's always a PC/laptop around (at a friend/family's house etc) - given the USB charging capabilities, I have one USB cable at work, a few at home and one for traveling which I leave in my bag - it means that I don't have to carry around a bulky charger everywhere and I always have a means of charging my iPhone anywhere I go. These days, even if you forget the USB cable, a lot of my friends and family have an iPod cable that I use to charge with - although I've heard some horror stories with charging the iPhone on the older iPod speaker docks so I tend to avoid them.

As for straight up between charge life, I can get 1 day, 1 night and a few hours the following day (so approximately 30 hours) without charging with some texting, tetris playing and short calls - anymore than that and I have to disable 3G and switch the phone off overnight, things like that. If I remember I've forgotten a USB cable after I leave my house, I disable 3G immediately, lower the screen brightness and turn to flight mode on trains/underground sections of my travel (since I've found, on my old N95 as well, when the GSM/3G signal fluctuates wildly, the battery gets punished due to, I can only presume, the phone automatically varying the strength of the internal GSM antenna).

Hope this helps!

Theres rumors of an iPhone refresh this Jan, with an 'iPhone Nano' coming out.
I wonder what the changes are of a new revision/more memory/price change to existing 'full' iPhones are?

Don't be under the illusion that the iPhone has good battery. Any device this size with a 3.5" screen is not going to last long on battery. For my use, the iPhone needs charging about twice a day. Spare charger cables are almost a must for wherever you go!

i'd wait for the jan apple conference as its next week, and see if anything happens. if it does it'll give you the option of getting the new one(s), or getting the 1 your thinking of getting right now anyway cheaper.

I got an iPhone for christmas and have just Quickpwned it and installed lots of goodies and it is absolutely amazing. The thing you have to remember about the iPhone is it's just not another phone like Nokia's and S/E's etc. it's an Apple phone and there for will be well supported and have a huge community.

To me the iPhone feels more like a pocket MacBook than a phone, I'm happy with battery life, even with heavy usage it last all day and i just charge at night. I mainly got the iPhone for web browsing while i'm out and about and it's a dream come true, The iPhone is awesome :)
