Getting armed assault to work

I load the exe file and it runs then just sits in the background not doing anything. My cpu load goes up so something must be happening but nothing does :confused:

I have this problem consistently with any Brothers in Arms games. I got round it by copying the entire contents of the CD to a folder and loading from there.

You still need the CD in the drive to run the game though.

See if it works.

I get mine to work by doing the following.

Check the letter of your dvd drive.
Disable it in device manager
Mount the image using Daemon tools
Change the drive letter to the physical drive letter i.e G:
use Y.A.S.U to hide the drive from securecrom or whatever it is called

play the game.

Apply the patch for the german release though

Hi you are better off downloading it. It works better!
And use v.8 of the english language patcher.

I did. german version so already 1.01, ran the patcher aswell. It still just loads then sits in the background doing nothing

Ok.
1.Create a folder on your desktop. Call it ArmA or whatever, doesn't matter.

2. drag the exe and the bin files into that folder you just made.

3. run the exe file from that folder ( the bin is just system stuff the exe needs run)

It will work.It still drags its arse, but it will work.

It will open up and install into your program files as per normal.

Oh....
After you install the game make sure you use the english patch I listed above
Then download and unzip the english patch into that program file. And run it from there!
