Getting back in to comics?

Waterstones do loads of graphic novels, but i prefer the actual comics and if you look after them in your old age you can sell them thereby not losing out on so much money. I used to collect all the editions of spiderman, venom and the new warriors but the family came along so I had to cut back. So in my old age I'll either sell them or pass them down to my kids........everyone's a winner.

There are still plenty of comic books series running and people taking their own twist on things.

Wolvering Origins and Old Man Logan are great!

I love Spawn too.

If you just want to read them, then try your library.

My son is into Marvel and he's ordered loads from the library, he's had ones that had lots of comics combined into one book.

Batman and Robin has been bloody good, so it has. Dick Grayson as Batman and Damien Wayne as Robin = total change in dynamic.

I used to enjoy the x-men title/s when I was younger but it was so hard to keep up. So many years of history is referenced and it seemed you needed to read about 20 different comics each month to follow the bigger storys. :o

It's almost impossible to keep up with now, X-men must have had 5 major events over the last 3/4 years, all running through 8-10 different titles!

If you want an X-men fix, First Class is a great series (available in graphic novel) that goes back to early X-Men days (and appears to have almost nothing to do with the new film of the same name :D). Ultimate X-men is worth a go as well, the first run finished a few years back, but the graphic novels can be found dirt cheap.

If you're trying to get at all up to date with current histories at all, you'll need to start with Civil War for Marvel (it's not worth buying, run through Wikipedia)

I'm actually working my way through the Civil War chronologically, really enjoying it, glad I didn't wiki it though.

Might do the whole House of M/M-Day thing afterwards.
