Hi all,

So I'm thinking of playing this again as my evenings are quite dull at the moment, I'm too tired because of my diet and competition to want to do anything so this would help until it's over

I currently own WoW the original and BC, do I have to buy Wrath and Cataclysm? If so where is the cheapest

And is it me or does that not seem really off putting to new players. Knowing if you want to play the game, you're going to have to buy 4 separate games before you can even begin to play

Cheers

You dont have to, enjoy the new cataclysm content going 1-60 first, unless you want to try one of the new races (which are both rather enjoyable for the first 20 levels).

You will have a lot of fun anyway without the expansions, just re-rolling with the new stuff is great fun.

So if I installed just WoW vanilla and BC, it would let me play, I just wouldn't have access to some of the new lands or races?

Seems that's what I'll do for now

If you're a casual player you would probably enjoy it, if you plan to spend most of your evenings on it then you might find Cataclysm pretty dissapointingly short-lived. PvP for me got tiring very fast, as it's still the same as it always was minus a few extra things.

Yep pretty much.

Hmm I don't know about that :p I think WotLK is a strong competitor with its free heroic dungeon runs/raids that you could win by letting your cat walk over your keyboard.

And Burning Crusade should put you right off WoW :) The worst content in the game these days.

agreed. to the OP: if i was you I would invest in some different games, have a look through steam - maybe pick up some cheap sale and indie games and bash through those, I really dont rate WoW as an enjoyable experience, a time waster maybe but not a particualrly enjoyable one.

id much rather level through tbc stuff than wotlk haha.
i cant comment on cataclysm though as ive never done that

to the OP, id just resub and level a fresh toon up to 70 first, to see all the new stuff, which is quite enjoyable actually.
you could always use the wrath of the lich king trial until the wotlk expansion got to you if you do end up ordering it.

funnily enough about to resub myself but plan to take a more casual approach rather than the "must do dailys everyday to grind rep" and doing HC Dungeons non stop to gain badges etc. :D Will probably level my old toon from 80 to 85 and then maybe try lvling another.

TBC was great! Especially all the Sunwell stuff. I've always been thinking about getting back in and leveling a new toon through the Cata stuff. I've gone 1-60/70 pre Cata 5 times, so would be great to see what's changed.

But still, it's WoW. It's getting back into Wow. Again.

Well I'm all downloaded and patched up to TBC. Took 6 hours :o 12GB!

The Cataclysm launcher and the way it patches is so much better than the old system.

When I get home today, I'll resub and reroll. What's the best class for someone who just wants to play casually and grind/quest/level as quickly as possible. Hunters always used to be best for this back when I played last

Afflocks are more reliant on casting than they used to be. But with proper use of Haunt, and kiting. It's even easier to have 0% downtime. Plus at lower levels, you are pretty OP. Less chance of getting ganked ;p

I recently returned and have been leveling a warrior, And its been pretty fun, Specced into Prot you will never die and you can take on multible mobs at the same time, And also if you dont mind tanking then you get insta pops for instances aswell.

Yeah that's the annoying thing about it. You would have thought as they're trying to constantly attract new customers they'd make it so you only had to buy the latest. Otherwise it could be expensive for a lot
