Had this a few months ago, read about somewhere you can sign your number up to stop receiving them and all was fine, but in the last two days I must have had over 20 texts offering me a £1000 loan. I've just paid off a load of credit so maybe the two are linked?

Anyone know how to stop this? I'm always unsure about replying 'stop' or 'end' in case it charges me a fortune for the pleasure or something stupid.

Take all of the $1000 loan offers and buy a very fast car and a really, really crap phone which doesn't accept texts.

This way you can drive it like you stole it and never hear from these financial service providers again.

I like your style :D

If these are really spam, not a reputable company, I would never reply.

If you reply, they know they have a live connection which makes you loads more valuable to them to sell your info on to other 3rd parties.

On the other hand, if it is a reputable company like HSBC or RBS they should respect your request.

Companies like Wonga are in the grey area in between and i wouldn't now what they would do.

Yeh these are all loans companies I've never heard of, 247loans etc. So definitely spam rubbish. I'm glad I'm doing the right thing by not replying.

Will have a look at those apps too, thanks

There is no way to stop it, just like there is no way to stop the texts saying I have had an accident in the last 2.5 years, claim now, or do you want to consolidate your debt, or do you want to claim for mis-sold PPI
