Getting bored of gaming.

I have similar phases, all it takes is a week or two away from gaming and then everything seems fresh and entertaining again :P. It is all too easy to 'overplay' a game, or get bored of gaming because you're just doing the same thing over and over again. I can agree with you also that it does get boring quite easily if you have nobody to play with. Especially in games such as Team Fortress 2; only so much a player can achieve on their own in that game.

All of my friends play Xbox360 Live and consoles now. I just think they're a gimmick, so I'm sticking to my PC gaming. It is boring sometimes when you miss the Teamspeak conversations and the general teamplay, but you cope :). Just try more actively to join Steam Communities or Xfire Communities, and get playing with a bunch of regular guys. Gamers are far from anti-social!

im also bored of gaming, im putting this to me getting old, life moves on and all that. Get more entertainment from watching TV shows (Heroes/Dexter mainly) & HD-DVD's. Must say though the Wii has refreshed my gaming apetite some what!

If your looking for a clan play on popular servers of your choosen game and ask to be recruited. ~Im sure people will snap yourt hand off, if ** not a little gob ***** rager :)

i think its because the 'G' has been taken out of 'gaming' (G=Gameplay), i offen find myself getting bored of games, try replaying some of those older games you started out with, always nice to revert back to the past to remind yourself what got you into gaming in the first place :)

you can start off by downloading xfire and adding me:

a332

then join the OcUK community where i regularly see people playing TF2 and COD4.

I used to game a heck of a lot, just go into a gaming server play their for a couple of days, get to know the guild be nice and ask them if their is a website where you can sign up.

I used to be in an Americas Army clan for ages quite a while back (when i was about 13/14) and you just have to have a laugh with the people on a server, get to know them, be nice and ask if they have a teamspeak you can join.

its how i mostly got into guilds/clans.

If you want an online community then World of Warcraft is a good choice, however it can become addictive.

Im sure hes quite aware of outside activities, but thats not what he was asking.

Maybe try here, I played bf42 in this type of tournament for a couple of years. Not as strict or rigid as a clan, if its still the same format they have 12 hour battles, of which you can join in and play for an hour or as long as you want. The communities are usually quite big, so theres always plenty of people on ts, whether its a battle day or not. They usually get a mixture of europeans and yanks, but dont worry, the organisors are usually adults, so any childish idiots join they dont last long.

Moderation is the word, I play games faster than they can make em, it is not often a game ofers something genuinly new and after playing several MMOs I have become tired with the same old grind but FPS games don't have the same prgression/longevity but are more fun.

I am dying for an MMOFPS, Planetside was the bomb. Come on Huxley, if you dissapoint me I dunno what I am waiting for. :(

Age of Conan looks good but still probably the same old grind. Warhammer Online looks good as you can level up through PvP but it is RvR like WoW (eurgghhhhh) rather than Clan V Clan as any REAL MMORPG Should Be.

If you want something with game-like feel that's more about the social side of things and making friends why not try one of the virtual worlds ? Secondlife, There, IMVU, Kaneva... Secondlife is by far the most advanced allowing you to build things, even create you own game if you want - most gameplay bores me silly very quickly, but I never tire of the infinite creative possibilities within something like SL.

go to Lan Parties!

for shameless plug see muh sig :D

seriously tho, I've met a ton of new people at Lan parties, half of which I now play online with.. their's still quite a community for Quake3, and mods such as Urban Terror, and some of my RL friends are from the ol' Q3 scene :)

add me to your friends list! I love TF2, but dont have many people to play against that I know. I wont be online for a week or so until i return to uni, but then ill play some TF2 with u!

EDIT: Yeah, you might need my steamID too, its Adman1020
