So i have had my R32 GTR for a few months now. Its my second skyline as i used to have a 300bhp R33 GTST, the GTR is 515bhp and quite frankly im bored with it already.

Im thinking of moving onto something different now and really fancy something with a V8 and at least 400bhp otherwise it will be boring.

What is out there for around £7k??? I know im asking a lot for that money but there must be something?? All suggestions welcome!!

surely rethinking what you want from the car is in order

not something "with a v8"

what made you get bored of the Skyline ?

really high mile E39 M5 is about that mark and just scrapes in with 400bhp, but doubt that will be what you are after.

V8 only narrows down your list quite a lot.

V8 westfield?

I'm thinking you are doomed to never being happy with a car if a Skyline GT-R bores you after a few months. You clearly dont have the budget for anything noticeably more interesting, a £7k M5 is going to be a complete pile of junk, so you need to get realistic or realise you are going to be one of those people who wastes a huge amount of money swapping cars every 20 seconds because they get 'bored'.

You are very right mate and i dont want to end up doing that as thats one thing i am worrying about.

Could it be perhaps an element of getting bored with 15+ year old looks & interior?

It could be i just cant quite put my finger on it.

Maybe i should get the GTR upto my spec and i will enjoy it more????

Maybe it's just 'too easy' to drive? With it being 4wd and having the computers to keep it on the road?

Why not try something without all the fancy tracking control and see if you get bored then ;)

Maybe just go back to a high powered GTST or SX. Is the car going to be your daily driver?

I used to have a 300+ bhp R33 GTST which was rear wheel drive for two years and i loved it but just wanted a GTR. I suppose i could got back to getting a GTST but get a mega powered one.

In all seriousness I'd be thinking about something that can have the top down and has plenty of grip, either an Elise or a forced induction MX5.

Wind in your hair = makes you think you're going faster than you are. :p

why dont you just pull the fuse out of the gtr so it stays in 2wd mode at all times, then see if big power rwd suits you. saves you buying a gts and will tell you if its rwd your missing or just the gtr you dont like

To me the old Skylines were boring. Very quick, very trick, no character which is why I didn't buy the R33 I test drove with a light tune just over 400bhp a few years back. It's not a rational thing, just don't light my fire, never have, though the new one is STILL yet to be driven.
