Hey guys, for the past couple of days i've been trying to fix a friends laptop.
Everytime when it boots up to the Windows XP screen, its just blue screens on me and i keep on receiving a message saying "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME".
I tried re-installing windows, went to the recovery console and entered all the commands to diagnose and fix the boot sector (fixboot, fixmbr, chkdsk etc)
but it still didn't fix the problem. I came across a forum where some guy was having the same problem, and he received a reply that who should run chkdsk /p, chkdsk /r and fixboot in this order and apparently that fixed his problem, but it still didn't fix mines
I don't have much information on my friends laptop, just that he has windows xp, 2gig memory, and intel centrino cpu.
Would appreciate any help since this is really bugging me out.
