Getting every last drop from the petrol pump?

I don't ever have this problem, ever? Petrol evapourates anyway does it not?

Maybe you're confusing diesel pumps with petrol in which case, your car might have aids!
 
I purposely use the pump that's on the opposite side to the filler so the hose extends in a nice downwards arc, you guys have just blown what I thought was fact and made me sad with your 'valve in the handle', haven't felt this bad since being told there was no Father Christmas :(

Personally i wouldn't want a black pump spilling its load all over me, since you have so much experience in black pump operations is it true that its hard to fit the black pumps nozzel into a normal filling slot?

Everybody seems to laugh at me anyway :p

Another thing that I used to do was keep in squeezing the trigger to get an additional 0.01 of a litre without the price going up by 1p, used to always work till fuel went past the 99p per litre mark :(
 
to save having to unreel the hose, park with the filler cap so it is on the opposite side of the car to the pump. the hose is then all extended etc and you get all the fuel out thats in teh hose haha
 
Not really, but I always tap it slightly to make sure the little drops are out so it doesn't spill all over me / car when I remove the nozzle.

What you've said it correct. Diesel stays on the pump handle and petrol buggers off. I've never got petrol on my hands when using a pump...unless I've managed to spill it on myself...as for diesel, yes, some dirty ******** don't know how to fuel their cars so get it all over the handle. The gloves are rather good...so long as they have some.

As for trying to get the last few drops from the hose, a quick shake and that's it. I have found some people don't and I'll pick the pump up and slosh small amounts of fuel onto the side of the car sometimes. :/

I did the hose thing a couple of times as I watched someone else do it. Then I realised that when you shut the trigger you won't get anything from the hose anyway.
