Getting every last drop from the petrol pump?

i lift the pipe up then give a little rattle mostly to catch the bit that normaly goes on the floor when you pull the pipe out.

I don't do this, but then nor do I trash the pump dispenser about against the sides of the fuel spout like crazy, trying to catch every last drip.

Drives me up the wall when people do this.
Why? The strangest things seem to really wind some people up in this forum :p

The other day I was at the pump and lifted the nozzle and diesel poured out all over my hands and the floor, I have no idea what the person before me had done but there was a decent amount

I have a friend that always lifts the slack hose up to get the last bit out... Now I'm going to tell him it's pointless and why.

Always get whatever is left in the nozzle out and do not remove it from the filler neck until it stops dripping.

It all adds up + I don't want fuel on my paintwork.

I always have a jar with a funnel in the car when filling up, so I can put it under the nozzle when I'm finished filling then each month or so I can pour the collected drips into the tank. :)

You mate need to go on Dragons Den, I'd definitely buy this for a dollar :p

I thought every bloke was meant to have a good shake after using their nozzle and wash their hands afterward?

I go round each pump and catch any drops left without pulling the trigger, getting fuel that others have paid for............

When filling my truck, I shake the drops thar are left onto the tank to help remove blobs of trailer grease that invariably gets dumped there....
