Getting Freeview to a projector

We've a bit of a problem trying to get a Freeview box to output to a projector. We are trying to do it as simply as possible just by using a bog standard composite lead. (phono-type lead with the yellow connectors)

A cheapo DVD player connected via the same lead works absolutely fine, however we have to use a scart block adaptor into the back of the Freeview box as this does not have separate red/white/yellow composite connections - this results in the projector picking up no signal at all.

Anyone any ideas as to what lead is required, or would it be possible via passing the Freeview through a VCR? The Freeview box only has scart output, and the projector only has a yellow composite connector, VGA and S-Video.

I would have though if a DVD player worked using the lead, the Freeview box should too - but obviously not!

Hope that all makes sense, I'm not the most informed AV person :o

It could be the scart/composite adapter, they are directional and you will need an output rather than the more common input adapter. You can get them with a input / output switch.

Just spoken to our AV chap at work and he has given me a Scart to composite lead to try out which has a Input/Output selector on it.

Will give it a go tonight, I've a feeling that's what the problem was as the Scart block I tried was from an Xbox which would in theory be connected to the TV and not the source, so the wrong sort :)

Edit - it was the scart block adaptor that was the problem, needed one that could be set as output :)
