In my experience, goths are pretty well behaved too. This new wave of baby emos are a bunch of brats though. They hang around McDonalds wearing t-shirts for bands who they've probably never heard of, or whose lead singers died before they were born. I despise them.

agree 100% emos suck big time, but not as bad as chavs. although i don't actually know any "real" goths, the only two who claimed to be goths were both ******s (one is an evil spineless worthless piece of **** that i wouldn't **** on if he was on fire). All the goth-ish (but not emu) people i know are ok though.
 
The Nephilim approach to Gothness is always quite simple. Black Jeans, Black Shirt, Black Boots (Cowboys if you have them), Black Cowboy hat or similar, dark shades. Long black trenchcoat or duster and a bag of flour. I'll let you decide what to do with the bag of flour (just dont go out in the rain). No need for nancy pancy make up, LOL :D

Just as an aside, all of you that loved the Nephilim really need to listen to N.F.D (Noise for Destruction).

A lot of the sci-fi element comes into being a goth these days, for example the clothes worn in Farscape. Of course Farscape was not around whenwe were listening 2 the dulcet tones of Killing joke, The Damned and Joy Division.

Think black, think depressed, think lack of energy, except for when the conversation involves drugs.

Spike up that hair, dye it black ,give it a crap red tipped look, put your face in a bucket of bleach for at least 6 hours to get that sparkly white sheen.

Buy overpriced pointless plastic black bangles for your wrist, or alternatively just wrap barbed wire around your arm.

Piercings......pirce yourself at least as much as a roll of chickenwire. At least 20% of your piercings must get infected to make it "look" right.

If your male, consider looking like a ladyboy (think Marilyn Manson). You also MUST be wearing more makeup than your female counterparts.

Wear about six belts, with random bits attached. Bullets, skulls, anything that gives off a silver sheen.

Put on a string vest (black), to show off your infected nipple piercings, and the assortment of razorblades you have hanging from a chain around your neck.

......yeah....you'll look like a right old social reject. Should fit in perfectly. :p

Nephilim, Death Cult, Damned, Cramps, Bauhaus, Alien Sex Fiend, The Marionettes, Sisters, Play Dead... takes me back :)

Incidentally none of the old goths I knew were sulky, must be a new thing.

KMFDM - Killing Joke - Stabbing Westward - NIN .... I was more of a industrial Goth than your classic Goth and was neither depressed or sulky nor took any drugs :p

I started off wearing all the long floaty medival clothing and then moved onto the PVC/Bondage stuff .. My hair was dyed black for years but I didn't go too daft on the makeup and also never painted my face white

I was a Goth until I was about 23/24 and then got into the Dance Scene and turned into a complete trancehead

Burned myself out of clubbing within a year and now I'm just kinda normal I guess although I still have some piercings, my hair has gone back to dark after a breif dalliance with being blonde and I have quite a penchant for basques & corsets ;)

I think there will always be a small element of the old Goth within me :)
