Hi Guys,

Notice a few of you are using GTX295s in your folding. I've given it a quick go with the GUI client and using GPU-Z it appears only one core is in use.

Pretty new to all this, have you guys managed to get yours to use both cores?

Under performance I'm getting about 330ish ns / day what ever that means.

Thanks,

Mark

There may be better ways to optimize the setup but if you follow the guide at the bottom of the following page you shouldn't go too far wrong as a starting point. http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinGPUGuide. It worked for me anyway. (I've got 1 dvi out going to the dvi in and the second dvi out going to vga on 1 monitor meaning i don't need a dummy plug).
I'm sure someone with more experience will be able to give you any further advice 'cos i mainly run SETI with F@H as a secondary when no WU available (Please don't hate me;))

Best bet is to run 2 GPU2 clients. In order to do that, you need to disable sli and extend the desktop to two monitors. If you're running Vista or Windows 7 you'll need to attach a second monitor (or a dummy connector) - at least for setting up (I think you can detach the second monitor once you've extended the desktop - maybe someone else can confirm). You can then use the excellent guide on the page ReaVerUK linked to (the section for running multiple clients is near the bottom). Personally, I have a dual boot setup with Win7 for gaming and XP for Folding as you don't need a second monitor physically attached to extend the desktop.

I see from the other thread you're running an i7 as well. In order to maximise your output, you could run an SMP client at the same time. If you do, make sure any overclock is rock solid before starting - F@H is very hard on your overclock. The Stanford guide for running the SMP client is here. If you decide to do that and have any problems installing the client, just ask and someone will help.

I would suggest using the excellent HFM.NET to monitor your clients.

Good luck and welcome to the team :)

Hey Guys, thanks for the advice.

Stan do you use msn messenger? Added you via the address in your trust, maybe you can talk me through a few things.
