getting iphone unique id through browser?

I have been researching this and the only way you can get access is through an app? is this correct. My colleague (sales guy) said other people seem to have access to this through emails/browser e.g. you open up google.com on your phone, the browser/page will then print your unique id.

All my research says NO but since I am a newbie in APP/iphone, i wanted someone to confirm?

Doesn't appear straightforward, and relies on the phone owner installing something on the phone. This is possible via a native app - however be aware that Apple themselves have started to reject apps which use the UDID for identification purposes.

It's a bit of a moot question now as UDID's were deprecated last August:

yes but there are replacements.. APple have got something that is more secure or something like a replacement.
