hello all,

Just ordered following laptop;
Znote 6224W
Zepto Zpro 300Mbit Wifi Card (ABGN) (260027)
No OS (200200)
Keyboard Znote 6x14W Black UK (170078)
14,1" WXGA+ 1440x900 - 6224W (100302)
NVIDIA® Geforce 8600M GT (800104)
Online discount UK 1 (901305)
2.00 GHz Intel® Core™2 Duo T7250 800MHz 2MB (120629)
160GB 7200rpm SATA Harddisk Samsung® (140035)
6 Cell Battery (250324)
4 GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC5300 Original Zepto (130133)
SAMSUNG DVD-RW Slot-in 6xx4W/6xx5WD/2xx5 (150124)

I will be using it for gaming and light business use and would appreciate advice which OS to buy and install, Vista 32 bit, Vista 64 bit or XP? I have no experience of Vista and don't want to find that a lot of my older games will not work in Vista environment.

tks in advance

Vista 32 , great os and will fly on that spec, no compatibility issues with 32 bit either.

You will need Vista 64bit to make the most of the 4GB of RAM.

Any 32bit OS will only see on average about 3.2GB

It'll see more than that because the Video RAM is shared with the main system RAM and so less will goto waste through the addressing limits, but I would still recommend Vista 64.

So three votes for Vista 64, two for XP. I wont be getting my hands on this laptop until beginning of next month, so a bit more time for interweb research before I decide to fork out the wonga.

Burnsy, the video RAM is 512 mb dedicated.

Vista 64 - to be able to see all the ram, and for future proofing. I recently bought new pc and went for vista because i needed to get an OS anyway so thought i may as well get vista. Have very few problems with it in all
