.. has anyone done it, or know anyone that has?
I proposed to my long-suffering partner of eight years last week, which she accepted and we decided to aim for summer 2008 for the marriage. We aren't really church-going folk so we are seriously considering the whole going abroad thing, maybe somewhere warm and sunny like Rhodes, Crete, Dominican Republic etc. but it does seem to be a bit of a hassle getting it all organised? I know the travel agents can sort out pretty much everything for you but I'm a little dubious so I'm trying to find people that have experienced it already.
The upside to it is that the honeymoon is pretty much combined with the wedding so it saves money, and you don't have to splash out £kkkk for some overpriced nosh at a posh hotel in the UK..
We are planning to spend a grand or so on a huge party when we get back, though, as probably only close family would be there for the wedding itself.
