I would not be so worried about the wall mounting option.Thanks I'm not so keen on a permanent wall fixing, as I won't be able to move the screen if I need to.
Ideally a stand with a smaller footprint is what I need.
Or a fixed arm that lets me get the monitor further back but i only have 45mm to play with on the clamp depth.
If you can use a drill to install a wall mount, then you are certainly capable of filling in the holes later and painting over if you chose to move the mount elsewhere. Wires hanging down are no big deal either as you can just route them in plastic cable tubing which looks dead neat and is very inexpensive.
And of course, the wall mounts can be gas-arm etc too if you want full movement.
